Recent updates to the 21st Century Cures Act will have substantial impact on hospital operations when implementation and enforcement begin. This session is designed to provide practical guidance to prepare your organization better for the ONC Information Blocking Final Rule and the CMS Patient Interoperability and Patient Access Rule. We will review how the Information Blocking Rule may apply to your organization, and its association with the HIPAA Patient Access rules of which your organization needs to remain aware. We will also provide an overview of the E-notifications Condition of Participation rule that requires compliance by May 1, 2021. The session will explain the link between these two requirements and, finally, provide recommendations on various steps to take immediately and meet compliance deadlines. The session is designed to provide you ample time for questions and discussion, and resources for further education on these issues.
