The number of deficiencies in the physical environment condition of participation and the environment-of-care standards has increased over the last several years. This session will review commonly cited life-safety code deficiencies in hospitals. We’ll review widely cited physical environment deficiencies and frequently cited life-safety code deficiencies, and CMS updates about these areas, including expectations for ligature-resistant environments, CMS categorical waivers, and surgical suite air pressure and humidity concerns.
