Delivering Safe Maternal Care: Operationalizing CMS Obstetrical Standards
A Webinar Presented by the NCHF Maternal Health Action Network
The newly released Obstetrical Conditions of Participation (CoPs) from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mark a critical step toward improving maternal safety, clinical responsiveness, and accountability across perinatal care settings. While meeting regulatory requirements is essential, this webinar will focus on implementing strategies that move beyond simply checking a box—toward deep engagement with evidence-based strategies that have the power to truly improve perinatal quality and safety and mitigate risk.
Participants will be introduced to Delivering Safe Maternal Care: Operationalizing CMS Obstetrical Standards, a practical assessment tool designed to help organizations evaluate their current practices and align with the CMS CoPs. The session will support hospitals and health systems in identifying opportunities to improve and implementing best practices that promote readiness, effective clinical response, and robust reporting—ultimately driving sustainable improvements in perinatal quality and safety.
