The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) made health equity the first pillar of its latest strategic plan. The agency is committed to “designing, implementing, and operationalizing policies and programs [to] eliminate avoidable differences in health outcomes experienced by people who are disadvantaged or underserved.”
During this webinar, PYA Principal Martie Ross and Senior Manager Kathy Reep will explain those policies and programs and discuss their impact on providers. Martie and Kathy will address CMS’s definition of health equity; health equity-related quality reporting requirements; screening patients for health-related social needs; the impact of Z-codes; and incorporating health equity into strategic plans.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
- Define CMS’ definition of health equity.
- Describe the new health equity-related quality CMS reporting requirements.
- Discuss the future impact of Z-codes on reimbursement.
Target audience: CMO's, CNO's, Physicians, Compliance Officer, Joint Commission Coordinator, Quality Improvement personnel, Risk Manager, Emergency Department Personnel, Medical Records and Legal Counsel.
