Informed Consent Update: Manuevering the Maze for CMS Compliance
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and accrediting organizations have certain elements required for informed consent.
All hospitals that received Medicare & Medicaid reimbursement must comply with these regulations and the interpretive guidelines. This program will discuss the CMS requirements for hospitals and critical access hospitals.
Healthcare providers must also be aware of their specific state law on informed consent. Many professional organizations also have guidelines or position statements on informed consent.
